Pediatric Dentistry
in Grande Prairie, Alberta

At Generations Dental in Grande Prairie, we are all about serving every generation of your family. Dental care starts at birth and we understand how important good experiences are for children. We have set up our Grande Prairie Dental practice in a way that allows children to thrive and learn to love oral and dental health.

We will use happy, simple terms to explain what we are doing and why as we go along. Whether it be an exam, cleaning or dental treatments, we strive to make your child’s first dental experience smooth and fun. We offer oral sedation and recommend nitrous oxide for a child’s first few visits to help them go through the process in the most positive comfortable way. When we achieve this, children are less likely to have anxiety about dental visits and more likely to keep regular appointments.

The Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children visit a dentist for the first time by their third birthday. It is essential that infants receive proper oral health from birth and that good oral hygiene habits are formed from the beginning. They recommend a dental exam every year and cleaning every six months at the minimum.

Children should be learning how to brush their teeth and then have the help of a parent to ensure proper hygiene has been met. Use fluoride-free toothpaste for children under two years of age, and floss once a day.

Generations Dental would love to be a part of helping your child learn and grow, helping them with their dental hygiene plan.
